Turnbull Merlot 2006

Our Merlot is dark in color and has aromas of cherries, plums and brown spices. Full-bodied and well balanced with a long finish.

The Viticulture: The soil type in each of our vineyards contributes it’s individual character to our final estate blend. Each soil type and microclimate demands unique farming techniques to obtain the most character from the site. Different levels of crop thinning, leaf removal, irrigation and trellis systems are applied depending on the conditions.

The Winemaking: Individual lots from each vineyard are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is followed by a two-week maceration and 18 months of barrel age in French oak.

The Result: Aromas of cherries and spice; full in the mouth with supple tannins and rich texture.
